AGM 2012

Please be aware that the AGM will be held at on the last Tuesday in October. Details will follow but we hope to hold it at the Mount Skip Golf Club Hebden Bridge as last year.

It is at this point that I have to put out a call for election of officers. I will contact the committee members over the next few weeks to confirm if they would be willing to continue with their roles. I once again would love to have a break from the role of Chairman and ask that if anyone would like to have a go at it please do not be shy, have a word with me and I’ll do my best to persuade you that it’s a great idea J In all honestly I have been chairman for quite a while now and it would be good to get a fresh approach and invigorate new ideas into our club, so please do come forward if you feel you would like to give it a go.

Part of the AGM agenda is to discuss membership fees, this was discussed at length last year and we decided to freeze it at £22 single £36 family with the £5 initial joining fee. I will once again visit this at the AGM and ask that people think about what they would like to do. It was noted that most riding club and Pony club membership fees are higher than ours and suggested that an increase in the fee would reduce the amount of fund raising we need to do. It would also ensure that EVERY member contributed to the club funds over and above the basic running cost of the club.

I will publish a full agenda in the October Newsletter with nominees for office also included. Please can all nominees be put forward to Cher the secretary by the end of September. We will bring nomination forms to the next meeting and a form will be included at the end of the newsletter.

Volunteer chart

If you are organising an event please can you email the event details and the number of volunteers you require to volunteers@calderdalesaddleclub.co.uk before the event and then send through the name of anyone who has volunteered to help.

All members must volunteer at one Area 4 event or two Calderdale Saddle Club events each year. All volunteers will be given an 'Attendance Point'.

Newsletter

If you have any news or events to share, please send them through to calderdalesaddleclub@hotmail.com to get them in the monthly newsletter by the 8th of the month.

The newsletter is compiled and sent out around the 15th of the month. The website is updated with the newsletter articles shortly afterwards.
