Benefits of membership

Training
There are many different training opportunities available when you become a member of Calderdale Saddle Club (CSC). The majority of training sessions are subsidised by £5 or more and include dressage, show jumping and cross country traning with experienced, qualified trainers.

Camps
We run two training camps per year – one at Somerford Park in Cheshire, in May, and another at Breckenbrough, North Yorkshire, in August. Places are limited, so priority is given to active members who volunteer to help at club and area events. Both camps provide the opportunity for lessons in dressage, show jumping and cross country along with the opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded people.

Competitions
As a member of CSC, you have access to our local and national competitions including Area Qualifiers and Championships. We run regular dressage competitions and the annual Norland Show. Teams also participate in Area qualifiees within BRC Area 4 in dressage, show jumping, horse trials and combined training. Entry fees for club events are usually subsidised for members.

Social events and pleasure rides
Not everyone wants to compete so we also hold social events and pleasure rides and unmounted training sessions. We also encourage members to attend our regular meetings and get involved through volunteering to help at club events. The AGM usually takes place in Octber and is also a social event and presentation evening for the year gone by.

Insurance
Members of BRC riding clubs have third party insurance cover through South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) while taking part in affiliated BRC-organised activities.

Rider Magazine
A free quarterly instalment of news, information and articles exclusively for BRC members.
